Garden Village held a morning tea to farewell Dr Sam Bouwer after 13 years of service caring for our community. It was also an opportunity to welcome two new doctors to the team.
“Sam was always loving, kind and caring to residents. He developed strong relationships with all residents and families and we wish him all the best on his travels,” said CEO Craig Wearne.
“GP’s are a cornerstone to the subacute health environment. The GP’s at Garden Village provide care to people that have complex needs far beyond the requirements of the general community,” added Mr Wearne.
Most recently Dr Bouwer supported Garden Village with the administration of the 4th COVID vaccine to residents and employees.
“As the main coordinators of resident care Dr Bouwer and Dr Degner did an amazing job managing the COVID-19 response. We thank them for their dedication to supporting resident wellbeing,” said CEO Mr Wearne.
Looking ahead two new GP’s have joined the Garden Village team.
Joining Dr Judith Degner to support the care and wellbeing of residents Garden Village welcomes Dr Tenell Holborow and Dr Nay Han.
“We are pleased to introduce Dr Holborow and Dr Han to Garden Village. General Practitioners play an essential role in providing healthcare to older adults in aged care settings. Garden Village is delighted to have the continued support of local GP’s especially at a time when there is a GP shortage impacting communities in regional New South Wales,” added Mr Wearne.
Residents who wish to enter aged care are required to have a GP to manage the admission and ongoing primary medical care and assessments.
