Garden Village supports Sailability

Garden Village Port Macquarie attended the Sailability new boat shed launch on 28 September. Craig Wearne CEO and  Taryn Robinson Executive Manager of Clinical Care joined the Sailability volunteers to celebrate the opening of the new facilities.

“Garden Village has supported Sailability with a donation towards their sailing program. We are looking forward to seeing the new facilities and seeing people access and enjoy the beautiful waterways of the Hastings River,” said Craig Wearne CEO.

Sailability Port Macquarie is a volunteer powered organisation dedicated to providing sailing for people with disabilities. The McInherney Park Boat Shed and Amenities Block opened on 28 September 2022. The new facilities transform the area and creates an inviting launchpad for people with disabilities to connect with the organisation and get on the water.

“Sailing supports social connection and participation in recreational activities. As a local approved NDIS provider Garden Village is delighted to donate to Sailability and support fun recreational activities for the disability community,” said Craig Wearne CEO Garden Village.

Garden Village has always offered disability nursing support and as an NDIS Provider we looks forward to supporting people with disabilities in the community. Popular supports offered by Garden Village include personal care, transport, meal preparation and social supports.

President of Sailability, Julie Constable said: “Thanks to Garden Village for their generous donation. The gift will help fund the local sailing program to support people with disabilities to sail.”

Sailability Port Macquarie meet to sail at McInherney Park on Wednesdays from the first Wednesday of October through to the last Wednesday of May each year.
