Recycling and raising funds

Garden Village is excited to announce a new initiative that aligns with our commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, age-friendly communities. Garden Village is partnering with local disability not for profit Willing and Able to launch a Return and Earn program, which supports both Willing and Able and the Garden Village Auxiliary.

“As a registered not-for-profit organisation we are committed to integrating Environmental Social Governance (ESG) principles into our operations to create long-term value for our residents, clients, staff, communities, and stakeholders. By prioritising environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound governance practices, we aim to uphold our purpose of providing compassionate and quality care that enables people’s lives while contributing positively to our community and the environment.,” said Craig Wearne CEO.

Return and Earn for a Cause

The GV Return and Earn program offers a simple way for everyone to contribute to fundraising efforts. By collecting and returning eligible containers, we can turn small actions into significant support for our seniors and people living with a disability. The first Return and Earn Recycle Bin is located at the Garden Village GVs Cafe with more locations announced in the coming months.

“We are pleased to launch this program to reduce our environmental impact through the NSW Return And Earn Scheme. Garden Village has the potential to recycle 127,750 containers a year through Return and Earn based on each resident drinking 1 drink a day. And that’s just the beginning! Reducing our eco-footprint one bottle at a time!” said Jo McNamara Community Engagement Manager.
