Kerrie joined Garden Village in March 2024 and has been a vital part of our team for the past ten months. With a passion for aged care and a strong commitment to excellence, she has played a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for both residents and staff.
When she’s not leading her team at Westerweller, Kerrie enjoys spending her weekends with her children and grandchildren, often making memories at the beach. Family time is an important part of her life, and she cherishes every opportunity to connect with her loved ones. If given the chance, Kerrie would love to travel to the UK and tour old castles.
Kerrie recently encouraged her staff to participate in the Christmas Decoration Challenge, an initiative designed to bring festive joy to the residents. By encouraging her team to create merry and bright decorations, she hopes to make the holiday season extra special for everyone at Garden Village.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Kerrie’s career is watching her team grow and develop within Garden Village. Seeing her employees evolve and flourish in their roles is a career highlight and a driving force behind her commitment to excellence in aged care.
We’re grateful to have Kerrie as part of the Garden Village family, leading with compassion, dedication, and a vision for a brighter future in aged care.
“I tend to follow split leadership styles – affiliative, where I endeavor to build strong bonds with my team and create camaraderie as well as an authoritative style where I remind our team of GV’s values and how our residents’ benefit.”
Kerrie is committed to raising the standards of care for older Australians and striving for continuous improvement in the sector. For Kerrie, Garden Village plays a crucial role in adapting to the changing needs of the region, residents, and the aged care and disability sectors. She believes in delivering the highest level of person-centred and accessible support to all, ensuring that every individual receives the care and respect they deserve.
Kerrie leads by example. She displays a high level of clinical knowledge and skill. Just last week I called her for assistance with an unwell resident and she attended immediately. Kerrie has a collaborative leadership approach, always looking to involve clinical staff in decision making. Everyones ideas and suggestions are considered. There is no nuance or pretence, Kerrie is honest and forthright. Kerrie is always friendly and cheerful, encouraging and fostering a harmonious and collaborative workplace. Bernadette Hope
