New resident Susan tells us what she loves about Garden Village
Rodney and Susan retired to Port Macquarie 24 years ago from Moruya on the South Coast. The couple moved from the home they built in the late 1990s in Greenmeadows to their beautiful new Banksia apartment in September. They are two of the newest residents at the brand new Banksia at Garden Village. The new beginning was long awaited for the couple who had been on the Garden Village waitlist for a new apartment for a few years. Although they have only lived at the Banksia for a very short time Susan already describes it as home and has made new friends and tried new activities.
Susan tell us more about your apartment?
We love the apartment we chose off the plan. It’s opposite the park on the second floor so we overlook trees and can hear the birds singing which is similar to Greenmeadows. At five or six in the morning you can hear the birds. We’ve bought lots of new furniture for a fresh start and we are waiting for our new Australian-made lounge to arrive. As soon as Sarah let us know about The Banksia we were determined to get one and we got our first choice. We bought off the plan. The rooms are much bigger than we thought. It’s great.
What do you love about Garden Village?
What I love about it here at Garden Village is that I can get everything done in one place. We walk out of the door and it’s two minutes to the coffee shop. I can get my nails done and my hair cut and we buy our bread here at the General Store. If we need to go to the shopping centre we get a taxi. To get to medical appointments we have the Linked Community Transport. Everything is close by. I have been doing aqua aerobics in the hydrotherapy pool and I like that too. And I go the Garden Village Craft Groups on Mondays. We didn’t know anyone here before we moved in but we have made friends very easily.
