Quality Innovation Performance Accreditation Award

Garden Village has been formally recognised for its commitment to quality improvements, implementation of effective systems, processes and team work against the Australian Retirement Village Accreditation Scheme (ARVAS) Standards with the award of accreditation by Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP).

ARVAS is co-owned by the Property Council of Australia and Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) and is independently operated on their behalf by QIP.

QIP is Australia’s most comprehensive not-for-profit accreditation organisation, dedicated to delivering accreditation and support services to a diverse range of health and community organisations.

“Accreditation is a major achievement and a clear demonstration that Garden Village is committed to providing a high quality living environment.” said Mr Gary Smith, Chairman of QIP, said. “Accreditation is more than a compliance-based program, it recognises strengths and areas for improvement, which helps communities to identify key quality improvement priorities. This should be commended, and QIP congratulates Garden Village on reaching this national benchmark” Mr Smith stated.

Becoming accredited against the ARVAS Standards involves a thorough and wide-ranging review of the community across multiple areas, including governance, communication, corporate systems, quality of service delivery, environment, team work and relationship management. In order to demonstrate and achieve accreditation against the ARVAS Standards, Garden Village undertook an internal self-assessment, followed by an external assessment conducted by an experienced, external QIP Assessment Team.

Craig Wearne CEO said that Garden Village’s achievement of accreditation was attained through cooperation, commitment and communication amongst the Garden Village residents and the team.

“Many of our staff played a valuable role in ensuring we met the Standards. The recognition of achieving accreditation gives our dedicated team a well-deserved feeling of accomplishment and pride, while reassuring our residents of the high standards we adhere to. “Garden Village  is proud to display the QIP accredited symbol. We want to communicate to our residents that their home and independent living environment is our priority. QIP accreditation shows we are committed to providing a quality village community based on professional Standards and continuous quality improvement,” said Craig Wearne
