We are currently seeking to employ a casual Retirement Living Wellbeing Coordinator within our retirement village. This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver interactive, engaging and fun social activities for our retirement community and be first response to deliver support when a emergency call bell is pressed.
The role
Reporting to the Retirement Village Manager, you will be providing on call services between 6 – 9 am weekdays where on occasion that shift will stretch over to midday to facilitate events. Weekend work is also required between 8:30 – 4:30pm.
Providing beautiful friendly customer service to 260 of our retirement community residents, this role includes:
- Responding to emergency call bells to support resident with an emergency (this could be a maintenance or medical emergency)
- Conduct risk assessments during call outs and escalate to professionals when appropriate
- Provide basic domestic and personal care
- Conduct proactive and scheduled welfare checks
- Provide social support and care
- Plan and facilitate activities and events, i.e. Bingo, Games, Luncheons, Bus Outings ANZAC Commemorative Ceremony
- Chaperone resident around our community by driving our Village golf cart
- Working with other Retirement Living Coordinators to ensure engaging events calendar and warm friendly service to residents.
The must haves
- Current first aid certificate (or working towards)
- Current flu and Covid vaccinations
- Experience caring for vulnerable community
- Experience creating activities and events for mature community
- Compassion, integrity and a genuine passion for person centred care
